Time tracking that starts when you do.
No timer to remember. On paid plans, Ruam starts counting at the first active minute of your day and stops when work ends. People on a shift are counted inside it.
Every paid plan. Free starts the day with one tap. Free forever for one person. Teams get 7 days free, no card.
5h 33m
Started on its own at 9:02 AM
- 9:02 AMWork started, so counting started
- 12:10 PMAway for lunch, logged as a break
- 12:55 PMBack, counting again
- 3:20 PMStill counting, on Website rebuild
The gap at lunch is a break. It is shown, never scored.
How it works.
- On a shift, Ruam counts inside the shift, plus an overtime window your team sets, up to 60 minutes.
- Without a shift, Ruam starts on its own at your first active minute, or you start the day with one tap. The admin picks the default, and each person can change their own.
- A day ends on its own at midnight, or after 2 hours with no activity. There is no 8-hour cutoff: every active minute counts.
- Coming back the same day picks up where you left off, unless you pressed End my day.
More about automatic time tracking
Three ways to count a day. Same work, different rule.
Pick a way and watch the same sample day change. On a shift, time outside it isn't counted. Automatic counts from the first active minute. One tap waits for you.

- 5:40 PMStopped working. After 2 quiet hours, the day ends on its own
Away from the keyboard still counts.
After a quiet stretch, Ruam asks what you were doing, so a call or a whiteboard session can still go on the day. Lunch shows as a break, never scored.
Never counted twice.
One tracker counts at a time, set per person. Use the web clock, the Chrome extension, or the app for Mac or Windows, and the hours never double up.
Long days get a second look.
On team plans, anything past 12 hours in a day waits for a quick review, so a tracker left running never becomes a 19-hour timesheet.
Questions.
Does automatic tracking mean Ruam watches my screen?
No. Ruam counts active time. It takes no screenshots and records no keystrokes, mouse movements, audio or video. During work time it records the site name and page title, and you see those first.
What if I forget to stop?
You don't have to stop. The day ends on its own after 2 hours with no activity, or at midnight. On team plans, anything past 12 hours waits for a review.
Is automatic tracking on the Free plan?
Free starts the day with one tap on Start my day. Automatic tracking is on every paid plan, from Solo at $6 a month.
Which apps does it work in?
The web clock in any browser, the Chrome extension, and Ruam Desktop for Mac and for Windows (from the Microsoft Store). iPhone and Android are coming soon.
