Mac and Windows

Version 0.8.0

Your day starts on its own

  • NewOn paid plans, Ruam starts counting the first minute you're active, with no button to remember. You can still choose Start my day in Settings on the web.
  • ImprovedOn Free, you still press Start my day, and Ruam tells you Solo can start it for you.
  • NewEnd my day means done for today: Ruam won't start again until tomorrow. If you just step away, your day ends after two quiet hours, at your last active minute, and starts again when you're back.
  • ImprovedNo more 8-hour cap. Your day ends at midnight or after two quiet hours, whichever comes first.
  • NewOn teams that review time, hours past 12 in a day wait for review instead of counting on their own.
  • ImprovedOn shift teams, the time Ruam keeps counting after your shift follows your team's setting.
  • ImprovedIf your team counts time with the browser extension, the app says so and doesn't count, so an hour is never counted twice.
  • ImprovedThe menu bar and tray say Start now and Start again, the same as the panel.

Browser extension

Version 0.6.0

Your day starts when you do

  • NewOn paid plans set to Automatic, your day starts on its own the first minute you're active. Opening Ruam doesn't start it, and Start now is there if you need it.
  • ImprovedA day without a shift no longer stops after 8 hours. It ends at midnight, or after 2 hours with no activity.
  • ImprovedAfter a quiet stretch ends your day, Ruam starts counting again when you're back.
  • ImprovedEnd my day holds your day off until tomorrow. Starting again is one press.
  • NewOn team plans, the popup tells you when time past 12 hours today is waiting for review.
  • ImprovedThe popup calls the apps Ruam for Mac and Ruam for Windows, and says plainly when neither is running on this computer.

Web app

Launch month

Ruam opened to everyone, with plans for every team size and a new look across the app.

  • NewPlans for one person and for teams of any size, with checkout inside Ruam, monthly or yearly billing, and an Undo when you change plans or seats.
  • NewCompare plans shows every plan side by side, and a team trial that ends moves you to Free with a reminder three days before.
  • NewA new look across the whole app, from Overview and My Logbook to Approvals, Time Off, Projects, Reports and Settings.
  • NewReports replaces Team Health, and the 1:1 view shows one person's period before you meet.
  • NewSwitch to Ruam: owners bring their history from Toggl Track, Harvest or Hubstaff with a CSV export, check it before it counts, and can undo an import for 7 days. Moving from Time Doctor? We'll move you over through the chat.
  • NewSetup on a Mac or Windows PC starts with Ruam for Mac or Ruam for Windows, with the browser extension as the alternative. An owner can move themselves or the whole team to the extension, with Undo, and members can ask to switch. Only one app counts each person's time, so hours never count twice.
  • NewA public status page at status.ruam.ai for the app, time tracking, daily totals and reminders, the website, sign-in and emails.
  • NewOwners and admins can ask for the data processing agreement and see who processes data for Ruam, right from Settings.
  • ImprovedA friendlier start: owner setup, short tours for owners and members, and a privacy screen that explains how Ruam works before anything is counted.
  • ImprovedOne-person accounts no longer mention admins or a team.
  • ImprovedLate start and low attendance alerts start switched off, so a new team turns on only what it wants.
  • ImprovedThe web clock handles long and overnight shifts without cutting them at 8 hours or midnight.
  • ImprovedClearer emails, from the invite to summaries, alerts and billing.
  • FixedWhen a team's plan lapses, Ruam pauses with a clear message, and every hour recorded before the pause still counts.

Browser extension

Version 0.5.3

Clearer when your team is paused

  • ImprovedWhen Ruam is paused for your team, the popup says so and nothing is counted. Counting starts again on its own once the plan is sorted.
  • ImprovedOn a one-person account, the popup no longer mentions a team, admins or approval.
  • NewOn a one-person account, when you come back after a long time away, Ruam asks once whether to count it all.
